Patty was a sonic adventurer! Back in 2003 she played and helped me develop “Instruments in Trees,” a semi-improvisational music piece for strings and tree materials. Although she was a trained violinist, she eagerly played prepared cello, pinecones, bark, twigs, and moss for this piece. This photo is from a rehearsal in my studio in San Francisco.
